Paid part-time GTM

Centorum is hiring GTM killers from top universities for a salaried and commission-based role – reverse-engineering governments and influencing networks to bring transformational software ending improper payments to cities and states across the USA.

ABOUT US

  • We are an NFX-backed US GovTech startup building pre-payment controls for government finance.
  • Our platform vets contracts, purchase orders, and invoices to end the annual $203Bn in improper payments to vendors before taxpayer money leaves the door.

THE ROLE

  • Getting LOIs, pilots, and contracts with state and city government in your area.
  • Approaching government through warm connections, cold outreach, and sometimes just showing up in person (we got our champions in Connecticut from walking up to them after public speeches!)
  • Managing the sales cycle from introduction, through discovery and pitching meetings, to forming long-term relationships with politicians/civil servants to convincing internal stakeholders, to negotiating and finalizing contract terms
  • Adapting your approach to each person – politician, civil servant, supporting stakeholders - by understanding them as people and aligning our incentives with theirs
  • Operating with a lot of agency – deciding how and what to prioritize, brainstorming, pivoting, following your intuition, and doggedly pursuing goals
  • Option to work in a small unit of similarly-capable friends – this works very well for the founders, and our UK GTM unit.

IDEAL PEOPLE

  • Highly independent. High agency. Always doing something, obsessed with something, and having more output than everyone around them.
  • Care and keep up with politics.
  • Know how to befriend people, be charismatic, and adapt to whoever you're speaking to.
  • Can understand a tech product and be able to explain it clearly, taking an interest in learning even if without any experience.
  • Strategic and systems thinkers: people who can take a messy and large goal – 'sell this software to 5 cities and this state' – and break it down (and perpetually adapt) into who to speak to next, how to move the needle, and how to get what you want out of people.
  • Bold people – who aren't afraid to cold-call or approach anyone in-person.
  • Interesting, spiky people with a lot to say
